Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes for older preschoolers and early elementary
age children offer challenging science experiments, hands-on
cooking, and creative art with clay and ceramics. Enrichment
classes are drop-off classes; parent participation is always
welcome, however.
Ages 3 to 5 Years
Art Around the World
Grab your passports to explore multicultural art! In this
multi media art class, children ages 3 to 5 years and their
parents will learn about arts and crafts from around the world
including Egyptian hieroglyphic and relief sculpture, Native
American masks, Indian sand painting and African rain sticks.
The class will include paper crafts, textiles, painting and
many other media. Fee includes all materials.
Thursdays, 11:00-12:00; 16-week series begins February

Ages 4 to 7 Years
Science Adventures II
Children ages 4 to 7 years will use their
natural investigative instincts to uncover answers to their
favorite questions like, “What’s that?”
or “How does that work?” In this hands-on lab
class kids will deconstruct some of their favorite toys to
find out how gears fit together and create motion. They will
explore the principles of light and color using prisms and
other fun tools and will create snow, fog and a mini tornado
to explore weather. Participation in Science Adventures I
offered in the Fall is not required.

A Potter’s Tale
Clay is the perfect medium for children to explore their imaginations.
Sculpt a magical world, a fairytale creature, an outer space
rocket and more. Children ages 4 to 7 years will learn basic
sculpture techniques while engaging in storytelling and dramatic
play.All works will be glazed and fired in our kiln and returned
to the children to bring home. Fee includes all materials.

Habitot Drama Troupe
Children ages 5 to 7 years will learn about the dramatic arts
as they play theater games, explore creative movement exercises,
try simple vocalizations, create characters and collaborate
to produce an outdoor performance for parents and caregivers
in Habitot’s Library Gardens education program space.
Thursdays, 3:45-4:45; 8-week series begins on April 12;
$110 Includes a pizza “rehearsal dinner” at 5:00
and a thirty-minute outdoor performance at 6:00 on Thursday,
May 31
African Drumming & Dancing
In the Swahili language, "Ngoma"
means both drumming and dancing—in African culture,
the two are strongly linked! In this drumming and dancing
class for children ages 4 to 7 years, sounds and songs from
many different African cultures will be represented. Rhythmic
awareness, creative motion and percussion will be emphasized.
