Fun Discovery Trips for Groups
Schedule a fun group visit to Habitot, a hands on discovery
museum for young children. Preschools, family day cares, summer
youth programs, church groups,
library literacy programs, mom and dad groups, play groups,
hospital-based programs, homeless shelters, teen parent centers,
and many others are welcome. Many groups are eligible for
FREE group visits to the museum, including
low-income preschools, Head Start and state or county-supported
schools, as well as many social service agencies, homeless
shelters, disabled children's programs and library literacy
programs.

How Large Can My Group Be?
Because of the limitations of our space, a maximum of 15
children including siblings over 12 months are allowed on
a field trip. The minimum number of participants on a group
visit to receive reduced fees is 6 children.
For groups larger than 15 children, we recommend contacting
the Hall of Health at (510) 549-1564 to schedule simultaneous
field trips. The Hall of Health is a hands-on health education
museum located next door to Habitot. For the first hour, up
to 15 children can visit Habitot, while the other half visits
the Hall of Health. During the second hour, the groups switch
places.
We do NOT schedule group visits on advertised Free Admission
Days. Free Admission Days attract a large number of visitors,
making it difficult to manage a group of children.
Adult to Child Ratio on Group
Visits
One adult must accompany every 6 children and direct supervision
of children is expected at all times. For larger groups, we
recommend assigning 3 to 6 children to each adult. We also
recommend rotating among exhibits; in this way, no exhibit
will become overcrowded.
