Why do you require photo ID's for admission?
As a nonprofit organization that depends on revenue from admissions and memberships, Habitot has an interest in ensuring that membership cards are used appropriately and accordance with our policies. Verifying identity of members is best handled by presentation of photo identification. Please note that those with ACM reciprocal memberships will likely be asked to show a picture ID when you visit other museums. Top
What kind of photo ID is acceptable?
A wide range of government issued photo ID's will be accepted including (but not limited to): drivers license, passport, state issued ID, voter registration card, permanent resident card, and military identification card. Top
What if I or my caregiver do not have a government issued photo ID?
Please contact our Membership Department at 510-647-1111 x 14 to receive alternative photo documentation from Habitot. There is no charge for a Habitot-generated photo card. All identification matters will be kept strictly confidential and no internal records will be maintained after issuing alternative photo documentation. Top
What if I forget to bring my photo ID?
There will be a grace period while we fully implement the new policy, however, Front Desk staff will record when a member has been directly informed about the new policy and admitted without a photo ID. Subsequent visits will require presentation of a photo ID. We appreciate your help in informing your partner or spouse and any caregivers about the new policy.

Can I loan my Membership card to my sister or father?
No, membership cards are not transferable. Cards are intended for use by the registered parent living in the child's household, by registered caregivers on Family Circle Memberships or by grandparents on Grandparent-Child memberships. Relatives may be listed as caregivers for your child(ren) only. They will have to pay admission for their own children or other guests. Top
May I bring guests on my membership card?
Family and Family Circle memberships allow registered parents to bring up to 4 and 6 guests, respectively, at no additional charge. Note that the parent must be present to bring guests; registered caregivers do not have guest privileges and will not receive free admission for additional children, including their own, or other for guests on your membership card. Guests of registered caregivers will receive a $1 discount off regular admission. Top
Can a caregiver purchase a membership and bring children from different families?
No, only parents and grandparents may purchase memberships for their children. Separate families sharing the same caregiver will each have to purchase a membership. The same caregiver may be registered on both memberships. Caregivers should be prepared to present both membership cards on admission. Please note: caregivers may purchase memberships for their own children. Top
