New Roger Goldenberg Painting
Philanthropist Tom Haas has partnered with artist Roger
Goldenberg to place his artwork in children's museums throughout
the nation.” Habitot Children’s Museum is a lucky
Recipient of Shel Game, The Big O vs, The Missing Pieces”.
The inspiration for this ongoing project was Tom’s
ten year old son, Tommy. Tommy loves to imagine creatures,
animals and stories that he sees in Roger’s painting,
which hangs in his bedroom. Tom wanted to share this excitement
for Roger’s artwork with other children by donating
a piece to children’s museums.
Goldenberg’s paintings have a tempo, tone, and color
that correlate with his love of nature and music, especially
jazz. His use of color, shape, texture, movement, and rhythm
create ‘mindscapes' allowing the viewer to actively
engage and experience the artwork. Cutout and jigsaw puzzle
shapes, texture and shadows allow the viewer to imagine shapes
and create stories. Early exposure to art deepens understanding
and encourages a life long love of the arts.
Proudly hung next to our art studio, this colorful and vibrant
artwork is the first piece in our art collection. We are hoping
to expand our collection with pieces by local and national
artists that will encourage creativity and spark the imagination
of young minds.
