Colorful Glacier Melting with Ice Balls

  • 8 to 12" balloon
  • Dropper or paintbrush
  • Liquid watercolor or food color
  • Tray or baking sheet

  1. Fill the balloon with water, tie end in knot and freeze overnight in the freezer
  2. When rock solid, take out and peel off the rubber balloon.
  3. Put ice ball on tray and let your child drip watercolor or food color onto the ice ball to see the pattens of color as the ice ball melts.
