Demonstrate symmetry in this art and science activity:
washable tempra paints
paintbrushes
red, pink or purple construction paper
scissors
covered, flat surface for painting
• Help your child fold a piece of construction paper in half.
• Open the folded piece of paper to reveal the full heart.
• Let your child paint or dribble blobs of colors of paint on the heart shape using paintbrushes and the tempra paints. Don’t overdo it!
• Fold of the paper along the fold line so that one half of the heart is pressed onto the other.
• Open the heart to reveal a symmetrical design on both sides of the heart
