Putting Your 2010 Donations to Work! Campaign for Habitot logo

Individual donors matched every dollar of our $15,000 challenge grant last fall. Your charitable gifts are already being put to work:

New foam climbing structures and mats for our Infant-Toddler Garden ($3,000)

Our eight-year-old equipment was donated to the Small Voices program at Herrick Hospital for preschool aged children with developmental delays. Please note: the Garden is a baby, crawler and early walker area for children under 20 months. If your child is taller than the bunny on the gate, they are too big for the Garden. Thank you for preserving this space for the youngest children and for ensuring a long life for the new equipment.

Donations extend our outreach through Contra Costa County Libraries ($3,000)

Permanent library passes that can be checked out monthly by patrons and used for a one-time free visit to Habitot will be installed at seven Contra Costa Libraries this spring: Antioch, El Sobrante, Crockett, Martinez, Pinole, Pittsburg, and Hercules. Lower income communities were selected for the passes in hopes of reaching more at-risk children and families who might not otherwise be able to visit Habitot.

New and Improved Medical Center Exhibit Returns to Habitot ($2,500)

Young doctors and nurses are already enjoying the child-sized ambulance, baby receiving station, X-ray table, exam rooms and vaccination station of Habitot's Medical Center exhibit. Refurbished and improved since its 2003 installation, the new Center now includes a popular veterinary wing for dog and cat care and ride-upon ambulances. More improvements, services and programs to come! .

Tell Us How We're Doing! Annual Member & Visitor Surveysurvey

Our Post-2010 Member and Visitor Survey takes just 5 minutes - and participating enters you into a drawing for a FREE Family Circle Membership ($190 value). Our Member Survey is vital to helping us allocate resources, add or alter programs, and communicate to our funders how we are needed by the community!

The emails of all participants in the survey will be entered into a drawing for a Family Circle membership which includes reciprocal museum admission, 10 class passes, and caregiver privileges. Its value is $190 value! (If you hold a current membership, your expiration date will be extended one year).

The survey will be released the first week of February to all those receiving this newsletter, or you can click here today to get started.
Link to survey: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22BTHJX5RL8/

Participate in the survey by March 1 to be included in the drawing!

 Membership News membership logo

Please note that Family and Family Circle Habitot memberships are HOUSEHOLD memberships and admit only those living under the same roof (and registered caregivers in the case of Family Circle memberships). Two families may not share a membership, and caregivers may not purchase memberships for use with several families' children. Caregiver privileges are only permitted on the Family Circle membership.

For 2011, we've added a Family Circle upgrade to allow the registration of up to two non-member children who can visit on that membership with the parent or registered caregiver. Restrictions do apply.

Also, we've added unlimited $5 guest privileges for all memberships.

busy doctors at Habitot's new Medical Center exhibit photo When they're not driving the ambulance, examining X-rays, giving vaccinations or caring for newborns, they're bathing puppies in our new Veterinary Clinic!

Help your children learn about the world of medicine and reinforce their capacity to care for others. Check out the visitor-suggested names for our puppies, too! Many thanks to all who made donations in the past year - you make new exhibits possible.
