Annual Fundraising Campaign a Success Campaign for Habitot logo

Almost a hundred families made a charitable donation to Habitot during our fall fundraising campaign, raising just over $15,000 and matching 100% of the $15,000 challenge grant that was put up by a handful of donors earlier in the season.

These unrestricted funds are critical to supporting the Museum's day to day operation in the coming year and to sustain our vital outreach and inclusion efforts for the most vulnerable children.

Medical Center Exhibit Arrives in Januaryboy driving the ambulance

At the end of the month, "Rocketship and Mission Control" will blast off to temporary installations at our sister children's museums down south - the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum and the Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum.

Arriving in our main stage area will be "Medical Center" with its ambulance, exam rooms, X-ray station and baby receiving area. New to the exhibit will be a special veterinary care wing, with puppies and kitties that need care and attention. Donations to the annual campaign make new exhibits possible.

General Operating Support Grant Received from the Thomas J. Long Foundation

Thomas J. Long Foundation logo In recognizing the overall impact and importance of Habitot's family and community programming, the Thomas J. Long Foundation has awarded Habitot $25,000 for the coming year. It is unusual to receive unrestricted grants from private foundations, and we are deeply grateful for their belief in our educational and charitable mission and for empowering our work with families and children.
