Magic Foaming Snowman

Kid made Melting Snowman

Materials

  • Plastic tray or baking sheet
  • Squeeze bottle
  • 2 c. baking soda
  • 2 T. salt
  • 1 t. dish soap
  • 8 T. water
  • Vinegar
  • Snowman hat, eyes, nose, two small sticks for arms

Directions
  1. Fill the squeeze bottle with vinegar
  2. Make snowman parts out of small pebbles or anything plastic or foam from around the house. (foam sheets from craft stores cut into shapes work well)
  3. Mix dry ingredients together, add the soap and then the water. The mixture should be crumbly but will form a ball when pressed.
  4. Shape two or three balls of the dough and make a snowman on the tray, adding the eyes, nose, arms and hat.
  5. Let your child squirt the snowman with the squeeze bottle and see what happens. All at once for the greatest effect of a disappearing snowman.
  6. Find all the parts, rebuild the snowman and do it again and again!
