Garden Plaque

garden plaque

Alttag here

• Plaster of Paris
• Disposable aluminum pie pan
• Shells, pebbles, acrylic gems, pieces of tile or broken pottery, marbles or other water-resistant treasures. You could even use small plastic toys such as figures or toy cars.

1. Cover a work surface and put your children in aprons or old clothing. Have all your materials at hand. Note: Plaster of Paris is messy and dries quickly.

2. Mix up the Plaster of Paris in an old jug or milk carton according to the instructions on the container. Pour into the pie pan.

3. Carefully place decorations on top (Note: objects will sink a little no matter how carefully you do this; if you are too rough they will sink a lot!). Wash your child’s hands thoroughly.

4. Leave the pie pan to dry for a couple of hours in the sun and when hard, remove the plaque from the pie tray.

5. Dig a circular depression in the garden and lay the plaque down on a level surface. Enjoy all summer long!
