Saturday, March 21 • 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Golden Thread productions, Amoo Nowruz, will present a live performance about the history and celebration of Nowruz at 11:00 am. Throughout the day, children can dance in traditional satin scarves, plant “sabzeh” wheatgrass and paint “tokhme-morgh” eggs, the symbols for bringing fresh life to a new year. Join us for our 2nd annual Norooz or Persian New Year celebration, traditionally celebrated in Iran, Afghanistan and other middle eastern regions at this time of year.
We are grateful to the Persian Center of Berkeley (www.persiancenter.org) and Golestan Kids for their collaboration on this event. |
