Make colorful tissue paper carp kites known in Japan as Koinobori to help celebrate Japanese Children's Day. Circles of tissue paper make overlapping fish scales. When complete, use them to fly in our Wind Tunnel.
Visitors also use tissue paper to create samari hats, or kabuto, to wear! Listen to stories about Japan's Children's Day in our Multicultural Reading Tent at 11 am. |

In the Art Studio, decorate clay pottery with colorful paints and create traditional Mexican paper flowers with multicolored tissue paper and pipe cleaners.
The Habitot Grocery Store will be transformed into a Mercado, or Mexican market, where Mexican fabrics, tropical flowers and frutas y verduras can be "purchased." Listen to stories about Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo in our Multicultural Reading Tent at 11 am. |

Drop off your kids, 2-7 yrs, for play and fun while parents enjoy a romantic evening out.

May 17 - 22 • Regular Hours
Turn battered and out-of-style lampshades into works of art using sparkles, colorful paints, streamers and other fun recycled materials in the Art Studio all week. Donations of lampshades welcome.
Lampshades will be collected and put on display in the museum throughout the spring.

Our friends at Bowzer’s Pizza (upstairs on Shattuck Ave.) will deliver child-sized cheese slices on sale for $1 each. Deliveries every 15 minutes as needed. Proceeds benefit the Museum. |
