Painting with Fresh Grass and Flowers

Painting with Fresh Grass and Flowers

Alttag here

• Sturdy white paper or cardstock
• Long blades of moist, fresh cut grass
• Violets, lavender, moist leaves, other flowers with rich colors

Alttag here

1. Hunt outside for moist grass, leaves and brightly colored flowers. Dandelions and weeds work well too.

2. Press the grasses and flowers onto and across the white paper and see how the colors transfer. Make designs and overlap colors. Talk to your child about the parts of a plant and how they need soil, sun and water to grow.

3. For paint, crush the flowers or grass with a bit of rubbing alcohol and use paint brushed to paint your homemade paint onto the paper.
