To secure Habitot’s future, we are rolling out an ambitious $300,000 fundraising campaign this fall – the Campaign for Habitot. Despite our award-winning programs and tens of thousands of annual visitors, Habitot is facing a $100,000 gap in funding this year. We’ve controlled costs and avoided debt, but cutbacks can only carry us so far.
And we can’t think about just about this year. We need your financial help, and the help of many others, if we are to get through this tough time and position Habitot for the future. No one wants to see a treasured children’s museum of eleven years in jeopardy.
When you receive our letter in the mail, please open it, and think about how much you and other families like yours use Habitot. Consider how much the community needs Habitot. |

Directed by award-winning Jon Tracy with musical direction by Phil Gorman, The Wizard of Oz takes you over that classic rainbow in a way you’ve never been before! Habitot parents with children ages 7-20 months are invited to participate in research on crawling and emotion at the Infant Studies Center at UC-Berkeley. Research hopes to uncover how infants’ perceptions and behavior change with the onset of locomotion. The study observes infant behavior in the “Moving Room” and the “Visual Cliff.”
Parents remain with their babies the entire time and may actively participate in the study. Each session lasts one to one and half hours and typically concludes with a brief locomotor assessment and a developmental questionnaire. At the end of the study you will receive a baby diploma and a small keepsake.
If you are interested in participating, or have any questions, call 510-643-0614 or email babycenter@berkeley.edu. Please include your full name and your phone number in emails. |
