Children’s imagination, mental and physical health, and creativity flourish when given plenty of opportunities to play in the outdoors. This fall, Habitot will offer two outdoor ‘play in nature’ days which are part of a broader community effort by the Bay Area Play Coalition to restore free play to children’s homes, schools, and neighborhoods. read more

The silver lining in this economy is that more commercial real estate is being offered for sale, and at more reasonable prices, than at any time in the last ten years. Habitot’s relocation and expansion plans which have been on hold since 2007, could be resurrected with community interest and involvement. read more

Habitot parents with children ages 7-20 months are invited to participate in research on crawling and emotion at the Infant Studies Center at UC-Berkeley. Research hopes to uncover how infants’ perceptions and behavior change with the onset of locomotion. The study observes infant behavior in the “Moving Room” and the “Visual Cliff.” read more
