FREE, drop-in, parent and caregiver support groups, which are open to everyone, are facilitated weekly in our Classroom Annex. Supervised activities for young children 2-4 years old are held concurrently. One or another support group meets every week; constituency groups meet monthly according to the posted schedule.
Support groups are created especially for non-traditional parents who might not feel comfortable in mainstream parent support groups. The groups give new parents a chance to meet other parents of young children and share the challenges of raising young children with one another. A similar group organized exclusively for non-parental caregivers meets monthly. Habitot staff and invited parenting experts provide information and helpful parenting strategies from time to time. $3 donation for refreshments always appreciated.

Parent-to-Parent Cafés and Caregiver Cafés are made possible by an Every Child Counts Grant funded by First 5 Alameda County with support from Peet's Coffee & Tea and Casa Latina in Berkeley. |
