(Berkeley, CA) February 1, 2007—
Engage in weekly classes for lifelong learning! This Spring, Habitot offers exciting NEW classes for children 18 months to 7 years old including Move and Groove, African Drumming, Art Around the World, Breakfast Club and Science Adventures and more. Children can make music, dance, cook, or draw, and freely explore the world around them to gain confidence, and build skills in language, literacy, math, and science. In Habitot's classes, children learn social skills that help them make friends and successfully interact with other children. Enrollment starts on January 23. Classes begin the second week of February.

For parents and caregivers, Habitot's classes provide a community of support and an opportunity to broaden knowledge about early childhood development. Learn how to deal with the arrival of a second child, potty-train children, prepare children for kindergarten, handle anger and much more. Evening parenting classes are offered on a sliding scale, from $5 to $25, depending on income. Please inquire about our sliding scale at the time of registration.

For more information about classes and registration, please call (510) 647-1111 or visit Habitot's website at www.habitot.org. Habitot is located at 2065 Kittredge Street in downtown Berkeley.

Habitot Children's Museum is the East Bay's award-winning hands-on discovery museum for young children. Its mission is to nurture and enrich the lives of young children, their families, and the adults who care for them by providing an environment for early childhood learning and exploration, parenting education and community outreach. Habitot ensures its accessibility for all Bay Area families through its Family Outreach Program that brings more than 8,000 low-income and at-risk children into the museum every year through scholarships, subsidized memberships and free admissions days.

More than 500,000 people have enjoyed the museum's interactive exhibits, art programs and classes since its opening in 1998. Not just a place to entertain young children, Habitot provides resources and support for early childhood learning, parenting success, and community connection.
