Celebrate Bastille Day at Habitot Children's Museum
event image

(Berkeley, CA) Saturday July 14, 2007—
Storm the Bastille and celebrate all things French at our annual Bastille Day celebration. Children help construct a large Eiffel Tower using glitter, silver collage papers and other recycled materials and add on to a giant French-inspired painting using special fleur de lys sponges and shiny paints. Families can put on a chef's hat, read from a French menu, and "purchase" croissants, cheese, and baguettes from our very own Habitot French Café. Sample real French breads paired with grape juice and cheese at 12:30 p.m. Listen to stories about French culture and traditions from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with special interactive storytelling from Stone Soup. This Free Admission Day from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm is generously sponsored by BNP Paribas

About Habitot:
Habitot Children's Museum is the East Bay's award-winning hands-on discovery museum for young children. Its mission is to nurture and enrich the lives of young children, their families, and the adults who care for them by providing an environment for early childhood learning and exploration, parenting education and community outreach. Habitot ensures its accessibility for all Bay Area families through its Family Outreach Program that brings more than 10,000 low-income and at-risk children into the museum every year through scholarships, subsidized memberships and free admissions days.

More than 600,000 people have enjoyed the museum's interactive exhibits, art programs and classes since its opening in 1998. Not just a place to entertain young children, Habitot provides resources and support for early childhood learning, parenting success, and community connection.
