4 out of 5 car seats are installed incorrectly and unintentional accidents among very young children are "the biggest threat to the life and health of children one to six years old," according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, officers from the Berkeley Police Department and other law enforcement agencies will conduct a car seat safety check at the Allston Way Parking Garage in downtown Berkeley (on Allston between Harold Way and Shattuck Ave). Reservations are required. Families may reserve a spot by calling (510) 647-1111 x38. Parking will be validated by Habitot and other giveaways from State Farm are included.
