(Berkeley, Ca) July 28 - August
2, 2008—
Infants and toddlers ages 0-6 will have an adventure "under the sea"
at Habitot Children's Museum's Underwater Week! Early explorers can catch
slippery ocean creatures with nets in the Underwater World exhibit. Artists
in the family will enjoy making aquatic treasures: building giant squid
and octopus sculptures with colorful cloth, rubber pieces, and bubble
wrap, or creating seaweed jewelry using string, beads, and funky fabrics.
Young scientists will design underwater scuba masks with blue lenses,
and help turn Habitot's Waterworks area into a Marine Science Lab.

About Habitot:
Habitot Children's Museum is the East Bay's award-winning hands-on discovery
museum for young children. Through early childhood learning, parenting
education, and community outreach, Habitot helps parents and caregivers
raise curious, creative, and confident children. Habitot ensures its accessibility
for all Bay Area families with its Family and Community Partnerships Program,
which brings more than 10,000 low-income and at-risk children into the
museum every year through scholarships, subsidized memberships and free
admissions days.
More than 750,000 people have enjoyed interactive exhibits, art programs
and classes since the museum's opening in 1998. Not just a place to entertain
young children, Habitot provides resources and support for early childhood
learning, parenting success, and community connection.
