(Berkeley, CA) October 8, 2008—
Could the next Picasso or Van Gogh be in our midst? Could a five-year-old with a fondness for marking the walls with crayons kickoff a new wave of abstract art? Habitot's Children Museum is providing a glimpse at the next generation of Bay Area artists in its 11th Annual Contemporary Art Show, a two-month-long exhibition of collected works from the museum's most talented visitors. On display will be 60 mix-media entries, all made by children younger than 7-years-old and consisting of a wide variety of materials, from glitter and paste to Styrofoam and papier-mâché -- the majority of the supplies being recycled.

The exhibit will be split amongst six different locations in four different cities: San Leandro, Emeryville, Oakland, and Habitot's hometown, Berkeley.
