(Berkeley, CA) October 13, 2008—
Celebrate the art, culture, and history of the native peoples of the Americas
at Habitot Children's Museum on October 13, from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Children
ages 0-6 will make dream catchers to take home: hang these string and
colorful bead creations over kids' beds to 'catch' good dreams! There's
more art to enjoy: designing vibrant totem poles out of recycled cardboard
tubes and paints, and face-painting in traditional designs. Children will
build bark canoes to send down the river in Habitot's WaterWorks exhibit,
while their baby brothers and sisters play with Native American rattles
and colorful scarves in the Infant-Toddler Garden. All visitors can venture
over to the Multicultural Reading Tent, for story-telling from Native
American traditions from 11:00 to 12:00pm. For more information, please
