Week of the Young Child at Habitot Children's Museum

(Berkeley, CA) April 20-25, 2009—
Habitot Children’s Museum’s week-long celebration offers special activities centered on children's lives, from babies and families, to neighborhoods and pets. Parents can create hand and footprints of their children, and work with their kids on a family photo book. Children can enjoy mailing letters, washing cars, and even "shaving" with special pretend props in Habitot's post office, car wash, and barbershop. And the whole family can join us in welcoming special guests - adoptable animals from the East Bay SPCA will visit from 10 - 11 am on Friday, April 24. Visitors will enjoy stories at the Multicultural Reading Tent honoring each day's theme from 12:00-1:00pm.

Monday, April 20:
Baby Day - Parents can create hand and footprints of their children.

Tuesday, April 21:
All About Me Day - Kids draw themselves, life-size! Parents trace their child's outline, kids fill it in with fun materials.

Wednesday, April 22:
All About My Family Day - Families can bring their favorite snapshots to create a family photo book.

Thursday, April 23:
All About My Neighborhood Day - Children can enjoy playing with special pretend props in Habitot's post office, car wash, and barbershop.

Friday, April 24:
All About My Pets Day - Families will join us in welcoming special guests - adoptable animals from the Berkeley SPCA.

Saturday, April 25:
All About Playing with Friends Day - Special staff-led games all day, including parachute games and a bean bag toss.
