Habitot is Collecting New and Old Toys
Habitot is collecting NEW toys for tots this season, in a project organized by Mashell Ewing, front desk receptionist and Cal work-study student, and her UC Berkeley service club. "By purchasing a toy in Habitot's gift shop, you can both support Habitot and benefit a needy child," says Mashell. Look for the collection bin near the front desk this month.
If you are clearing out OLD toys this season, they can find a home in Habitot's Toy Lending Library - a well-used Museum resource. Thousands of families, including many low-income subsidized members, will enjoy the outgrown infant, toddler and preschool toys you donate to our collection. In-kind gift receipts are available for tax purposes. (Please - no weapons, dolls, stuffed animals, or board games.)
Thank you!
Want to Donate a Toy?
All toys have been donated and the library accepts
new and gently used toys for the collection (no games, dolls,
stuffed animals, or war or weapons toys). To arrange a toy
drop-off, please contact operations@habitot.org.
Toys Enrich a Child Play
Toys can enrich your child's play. Offering young children
a variety of high-quality, educational toys are an important
way to keep them intellectually stimulated and engaged. Habitot's
Toy Lending Library is a collection of over 500 educational
toys.
Toy Check Out
Check out toys for three weeks at no cost. Our staff
can help you choose toys that are appropriate for each age
