Habitot has received governmental support for its family outreach program, child safety campaign, arts program, youth employment program, and "Art Reach."

The Institute for Museum and Library Services, a federal agency, funded Habitot's model program of taking hands-on art activities for preschoolers, family engagement and teacher training to low income preschools in Oakland in the 2004-2005 school year.

For 2008-2009, Alameda County First Five funded a comprehensive program of parenting education and drop-in support groups for teen parents, special needs families, caregivers and other diverse individuals not traditionally served by parenting support groups.
