Teen Times

Teen Parents Are Welcome at Habitot

CalSafe - Hayward/Fruitvale and the Vera Casey Collaborative - Berkeley are two of the teen parent programs that make regular visits to Habitot. Young parents can play and bond with their children during this exclusive time in the afternoons. Teen Times help young parents have positive interactions with their children in the museum’s hands-on exhibits and Art Studio.

Helping Teens Build Social and Emotional Connections

Our Parenting and Community Partnerships Manager creates tailored programs that meet the needs of individual groups. Staff support gently guides teens in building social and emotional connections with their children and gives them more knowledge about the ages and stages of early childhood development.

“I learned I can do things to help my child learn - read to her and do art together,” said one teen parent.

Take Home Activities and Handouts

Take home activities and handouts are provided to each teen, as well as free return visit passes.
