Quality Toys Support Play

Habitot's Toy Lending Library

Members and Others May Check Out Toys

Housed within the Museum is a collection of play-based, educational toys for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The Library's high quality toys support learning and hands-on discovery play in the home. Sharing toys is ecological, reduces family expenses and keeps young children (who outgrow toys quickly) engaged.

As a benefit of membership, current members, including subsidized members, may check out up to three toys on each visit, for three weeks at a time. Members are responsible for replacing toys lost or damaged. We ask that members not share toys with non-members to reduce loss of toys. Checked out toys must be returned before new toys may be checked out.

Toy Donations Welcome

New or gently used donations, especially toys for older preschoolers, are welcome. No pretend weapons, dolls, stuffed animals or games with lots of parts are accepted. See wish list.

Seeking Program Sponsor

The Toy Library is currently an unfunded program and we are seeking a financial sponsor to upgrade the toy collection, manage resources and guide parents in toy selection. Please contact us at 510-647-1111 x32 or develp@habitot.org if you are interested.
