Year-round Placements

Development Intern

The Development Intern assists with a variety of fundraising projects and activities. The internship is 3-months long, with a minimum of 9 hours/week expected. Stipend of $300 upon completion of 100 hours.

Intern Responsiblities

  • Write in-kind donation request letters
  • Solicit auction and raffle items
  • Research potential donors and sponsors
  • Update FileMaker database records
  • File donation reports
  • Assist with on and off-site donor cultivation and special events

Qualifications

  • Have an interest in fundraising, research, event planning, and/or non-profit organizations
  • Be a junior or senior at a four-year college/university, or recent college graduate
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Be proficient in Word, Excel, Internet in Mac environments
  • Be organized and efficient
  • MUST be able to work independently under direct supervision
Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern supports communications and marketing efforts around events, activities, and fundraising.The internship is 3-months long, with a minimum of 9 hours/week expected. Stipend of $300 upon completion of 100 hours.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Write press releases and calendar listing announcements
  • Update media contact list
  • Staff booth/tables at community events
  • Maintain press clippings and in-house communications binders
  • Track event participation and update event binder
  • Assist with on and off-site donor cultivation and special events

Qualifications

  • Have an interest in media, communications, marketing, or PR
  • Be a junior or senior at a four-year college/university, or recent college graduate
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Be proficient in Word, Excel, Internet in Mac environments
  • Be organized and efficient
  • MUST be able to work independently under direct supervision
Graphic Design Intern

The Graphic Design Intern works under the direction of Habitot's graphics designer producing routine graphically designed publications. The internship is 3-months long, with a minimum of 9 hours/week expected. Stipend of $300 upon completion of 100 hours.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Update ads, event flyers, museum signage, invitations, announcements, calendars, stationery, business cards and others for print publication
  • Upload graphic files electronically
  • Maintain binders of graphically designed in-house materials

Qualifications

  • Have an interest in graphic design, art or marketing
  • Be a junior or senior at a four-year college/university, or recent college graduate
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Have knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe, Photoshop, html, Internet and Mac environments
  • Be organized and efficient
  • MUST be able to work independently under direct supervision
Early Childhood Education Intern

Depending on experience, ECE Interns may assist in the Art Studio or with Summer Camps for Tots.Some interns have developed and implemented in-museum learning activities for visitors.Stipend of $300 upon completion of 100 hours.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare art, science, cooking, literacy or dramatic play activities for young children
  • Support lead teachers and assist in activities with children
  • Maintain educational materials in bins and in storage areas

Qualifications

  • Have an interest in early childhood education or art education
  • Be a junior or senior at a four-year college/university, or recent college graduate
  • Have excellent rapport with children
  • MUST be able to work independently under direct supervision
