Not-Too-Spooky Halloween
Sunday, October 27
9:30 - 4:30

Fun, treats, and prizes at our Not-Too-Spooky Halloween! Not-Too-Spooky decorations will start going up in mid-October and stay through Halloween. Come show us your costume anytime!  

Art Studio: Excavate bugs from frozen monster hands. Paint miniature pumpkins, while supplies last. Come play with pumpkin slime.  

Museum: Play miniature golf in the Toddler Garden tombstone graveyard. Visit the Witches Apothecary in the grocery store for some Not-Too-Spooky sensory play. Pizza lunch $1.50 kid slices.

FREE monthly support group is open to all LGBTQ parents and their children. Come connect, share experiences and exchange ideas while kids enjoy playtime and pizza in the museum. Donations always welcome.

Free Fire Safety Puppet Show

October is Fire Safety Month! Thanks to support from the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, local puppeteer Toni “Tone” Mikulka will perform a complete half-hour puppet show in our vintage puppet theater featuring a mommy and baby fire-burping dragon and a firefighter puppets. Please register on Eventbrite as space for the show is limited. Registration for this event includes the free puppet show and free museum admission when the show is over, at 10:00a, thanks to Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.

Mini Fire Safety Puppet Shows

Local puppeteer Toni “Tone” Mikulka will perform whimsical vignettes with a mommy and baby fire-burping dragon and a firefighter puppet to teach kids about fire safety, burn prevention and that under a firefighter's mask is a kind helper come to help. Presented  in the main museum at the Fire Engine exhibit.

A Reuse, Reduce Waste Activity!

Be a recycling superhero when you turn an old t-shirt into a new superhero cape. Bring an old colored, adult-sized large t-shirt to the Art Studio (we'll have some on hand). Together, you'll cut it into a cape and then design your own superhero crest to iron on!

Indigenous Peoples' Day

Art Studio: Art activity inspired by Ohlone basket making. Weave and decorate, or make a natural materials collage. Have you ever wondered about contemporary Ohlone basket making? Here's a video of the Ohlone Basket Weaver, Linda Yamane, keeping her cultural traditions alive. 

Museum: Check out our photo essay celebrating North America's indigenous people. Join in a community weaving project inspired by the upright looms used for Navajo rug weaving. Curious about this tradition? Here's a video of Vanessa Begay-Lee weaving a Navajo rug

Enjoy a date night out! Drop off your kids, 2-7 years old, for play and fun at Habitot while you enjoy an evening out! Cheese pizza for dinner included.

Pizza Fridays

Easy peasy pizza lunch gives you more time to play! The pizza comes in kid-size slices that are $1.50 each. Parents are welcome to fill up on kid slices too.

STEM Saturdays

Amaze your kids with the power of chemistry, using safe and simple household ingredients to produce a gas that will inflate a balloon (ghost)! The perfect Halloween surprise!

Let your imagination go wild! The Recycled Materials Art Cart holds industry cast-offs, and both unusual and household items that would otherwise be destined for the dump. Come give these objects a new life by creating art! Sponsored by.
