Share some coffee and pastries, connect with other caregiving professionals and talk about the fun and challenges you face in raising others' children. Habitot staff will occupy your charges at nearby tables with art activities and puzzles while you take part in a facilitated group discussion. We hope to bring in outside experts to share their expertise on topics of interest. Free museum admission for all attendees following Caregiver Cafe let's you put new ideas into action.

Marinette Tovar shares stories from her culinary upbringing in Mexico while teaching about the traditional foods and culture in Latin cooking. Kids will get to create, get messy with tasty meals such as guacamole, salsas, enchiladas and more. Using rhythm sticks, your tyke will explore preschool basics such as the alphabet, shapes, colors, and numbers through the language we all can understand, music! Hip Stix creator, Alicia Langlais-Himelstein, is an experienced pilates and dance fitness instructor, and has over 12 years of training in ballet and modern, and 5 years of folkloric and hip-hop dance.

FREE Parenting Workshop (with registration)

Stay attuned to your children and increases your ability to engage and stay connected without reacting during moments of distress. In this workshop parents will reflect on their children's inner emotional experiences while further developing their understanding of their children's behaviors and feelings. Two local psychologists and members of Thoughtful Parenting Consultants Network, Carolina Bacchi, Psy.D and Katya Woodmansee, Ph.D., will lead this interactive workshop. Mamas & Papas (LGBTQ Families) with Our Family Coalition
5:30–7:30 pm
Join our free, drop-in support group for gay and lesbian families and their 0-5 year old children, presented in partnership with Our Family. While parents engage in lively and supportive conversations facilitated by Habitot and Our Family staff in our classroom annex (Habitot, Too), children play (with supervision) in the Museum.

Lunar New Year Celebration

Lunar New Year is a time of family reunion, food, music and dance. There will be an exciting Dragon parade through the museum in which children can participate. Children can practice black ink calligraphy and also create their own paper dragon puppets in the Art Studio.
