Día de los Muertos

Art Studio: Make traditional marigold flowers out of tissue paper to add to our Day of the Dead ofrenda, or take take your flowers home.

Museum: Habitot will be celebrating the life and works of famous Mexican Americans in its ofrenda. Watch a papel picado-making demonstration with local artisan, Enrique Martinez. Decorate a sugar skulls with frosting and sprinkles and use our face painting table for your Day of the Dead mask.

Ages: 0-5, but all ages welcome!

What Are We Learning? Fine motor skills. Celebrating culture.

In Mexican culture Dia de los Muertos, is a bright holiday that honors and celebrates the spirits of deceased loved ones. Habitot’s ofrenda will be celebrating the lives of Mexican Americans who have shaped American culture. Come down and join in this cultural holiday based on love, respect, and honor.
