Exhibits for a New Habitot

What exhibits will Habitot’s new museum have? Most of Habitot’s beloved exhibits are in storage, waiting for a new home. These will all be pulled from storage and updated for a new space. The mobile exhibits, which are currently on the road at Habitot’s Pop-Up events will also be added to and enlarged for a new space. And of course, there are a few exhibits for which we have plans, and artistic renderings. All of these will come together in our new museum!

Donations large and small are keeping Habitot in the community and building toward a world-class, destination museum for the East Bay. Invest in the joyful learning of our community’s children when you make a donation today!

Grocery Store & Cafe

Shop for fruits, vegetables, bread, and dry goods in this small-scale grocery store. Pint-sized metal shopping baskets look just like the ones moms and dads use. Pretend money and cash registers encourage buying, selling, and making change. And a nearby cafe counter lets parents order from the menu while little chefs whip up a tasty pretend meal.

Animal Hospital

Put on your lab coat and see who the next patient is – a dog, a cat, a turtle, or a snake – who needs your help. Bandage, vaccinate, bathe, or set a broken bone.

Rocketship & Mission Control

Rocketship & Mission Control 3, 2, 1, blast off! This exhibit’s open-ended play provides opportunities for adults to talk about science while crafting a great adventure with their children. The coordinated efforts between Mission Control and young astronauts make awesome space travel possible. Choose a destination. Fly avoidance. Land.

Wiggle Wall

Inside the Wiggle Wall, children navigate through a vertical maze of safe passageways rising from floor-to-ceiling. Parents and children can see each other through net-covered openings.

Wind Tunnel

Design objects that fly and spin, then test them in the Wind Tunnel. The Wind Tunnel will be between our Maker & Tinkering Space and our Rocketship & Mission Control, at the intersection of iterative design and flight!

Transportation Tables

Children love linking up wooden train cars and sending them around the tracks, over bridges, and under tunnels. We’re going to add cars and boats to the landscape!
