This kit contains the supplies for three activities, so that you can open a box and begin your projects.

Activity 1

Sprout seeds in a sprouting jar. We love this project for children because you’ll have the satisfaction of growing something you can eat in just a few days. This feels like a great amount of time to feel like a reward well earned and happens quickly enough for a shorter attention span.

Activity 2

Plant vegetable seeds in soil wafers and peat pots. We picked soil wafers for this kit to cut down on mess and were careful to pick out seeds which sprout and grow quickly. Kids will learn how to care for plants as they grow, and they’ll be introduced to plant biology (Katie, is this for real? I don’t know what education material we included to help parents do this), and cause and effect.

Activity 3

What seedlings wouldn’t want a beautiful home to grow in? We’ll send a paintbrush and paint, so your child can decorate their plant pots before planting your seeds.
